  • Driven by his passion to provide innovative, functional, and sustainable architectural design and architecture, Architect Edgar Sambile Calma built E.S. Calma Design and Associates in 1998.

    At the age of 28, he was determined to make a mark for himself in the industry. He is aware of the opportunities and was eager to be a major player in the design and architectural market. And these, he know, will entail a lot of hard work from him and from the people he trusts with his dream, his friends- which are the “Associates” of E.S. Calma Design and Associates.

    Together with his team consisting of highly competent professionals – from architects, engineers, and interior designers, E.S. Calma Design and Associates was able to deliver projects which exceeded client expectation, met the agreed budget, and served the purpose it was built for.

    Being the new and a small player in the industry during the early years, Architect Calma believed that every good job creates a good will, which helped him gain more clients. By setting the goals and providing direction to every project, E.S. Calma Design and Associates was able to deliver more than what was expected by the client. To be able to build and seal a stronger and lasting relationship with its clients, a Post-Construction Service was given to clients, even after the expiration of contract.

    “Working with the client” was the mindset of E.S. Calma and Associates, which meant treating clients as business partners.  Architect Calma believes that business is not just about cost and profit, it is also about honesty and transparency, and that was the foundation for every contract/project.  From employees to suppliers, the basic principle of honesty and fairness was infused.  In running his team, creativity and leadership is being encouraged. Responsibility is taught by delegating timelines and budget, coordinating milestones with clients, and delivering projects that are not only satisfactory but projects that are able to serve its purpose and exceed the expectation of clients.

    Over the years, E.S. Calma Design and Associates’ work has served as a mark of integrity and excellence, a mark known to its employees, clients and in the design and architectural industry.

As we enter our second decade in the industry, we would like to take you back to our humble beginnings, how we became what we are now, and how ES Calma Design and Associates will build the future of architectural design.

With just eight (8) employees, consisting of highly competent professionals – from architects, engineers, and interior designers, we were able to start our operations in Alabang, in 1998.

During our early years, we were faced with a lot of challenges, from manpower sourcing, to finding clients and suppliers. We were pressed for time to come up with solutions and meet deadlines.

Twenty years later, we still face the same challenges but in a more complex field, considering the technology revolution and the concept of sustainable design. Our clients have evolved and so are their needs.

We see these changes as opportunities for ES Calma Design and Associates to stand out not only in terms of design but also in terms of innovation and professionalism.

These are the key factors that make us deliver quality service to clients -on time, every time.
